Most fountain pen inks are designed for premium paper. Put them on a spiral notebook, a pad of filler paper, or a sheet out of the office printer and you get feathered lines, bleed-through, and ghosting on the reverse side. Half the page is unusable and the writing looks nothing like it did in the swatch.

I got tired of buying inks that only behaved on the good stuff. So I made my own.

Daily Fountain Pen Ink is formulated around ordinary paper. Cheap notebooks, filler paper, planners, forms, meeting notes, the back of a receipt. It lays a clean, controlled line that binds to the sheet quickly instead of spreading into the fibers — so it stays sharp, resists a spill or a damp thumb, and keeps the back of the page readable enough to write on both sides.

It's also built for ordinary pens. A dye-based formula tuned to flow properly in inexpensive fine-nib fountain pens, not just in a well-tuned gold nib. 

Sailor — the first colorway. A solid, saturated navy that stays consistent across the stroke, with just a touch of variation where the ink pools. Dark and legible enough for work, clearly blue rather than another black.

Hand-made in small batches in New York. Because every batch is mixed by hand, color can vary very slightly from one to the next — that's the tradeoff for a recipe made in a workshop instead of a factory, and I think it's a fair one.
